Dear Congregation Beth Israel members and friends,
I’m writing to share some calendar updates and some Tu BiShvat news.
First: please note that there will not be a First Friday Shabbat potluck tonight (January 4) or February 1. Instead, we’ll have a Friday night Shabbat potluck on January 25, which is Tu BiShvat (the New Year of the Trees) — so our vegetarian/dairy potluck dinner will be part of a Tu BiShvat seder led by Reb Rachel! Stay tuned for more on that.
(Relatedly: we’re seeking hosts for the First Friday Shabbat potlucks in March, April, May, and June — if you’re interested, please reach out to Heather Levy.)
Second: our Aleph-Tav and Ne’arim students will be learning about Tu BiShvat during a special joint Tu BiShvat program on Monday, January 14. Parents of those children, stay tuned for more information on that day’s special schedule.
And finally: our Hand-in-Hand students will learn about Tu BiShvat with a new, experiential journey through the four stations of the four worlds and the four seasons on Sunday, January 20.
Shabbat shalom to all!
