Humility / Splendor within Compassion / Balance / Harmony
Today is the day of hod — which means both humility and splendor — within the week of tiferet, compassion and harmony and balance.
How can you strive to be humble in your compassion? (And how is your compassion a splendid thing in your life and in the lives of others?)
How can you strive to be splendorous in your compassion? (And how might you also seek to imbue your compassion with a humble heart and spirit?)
This is the 19th step toward Shavuot, toward revelation, toward Sinai.
As I count the Omer, let my counting create a tikkun, a healing, between transcendence and immanence, God far above and God deep within.
Baruch atah, Adonai, eloheinu ruach ha’olam, asher kidshanu b’mitzvotav v’tzivanu al sfirat ha-omer.
Blessed are You, Adonai our God, breath of life, who makes us holy with mitzvot and gives us this opportunity to count the Omer.
Today is nineteen days, which are two weeks and five days, of the Omer!
