This coming Shabbat (12/3) our morning service and Torah study will be led by Reb Rachel.
The following weekend (12/10), our morning service and Torah study will be led by Cantor Shoshana Brown. This will be her first visit to CBI, so here’s a bit of information about her:
Cantor Shoshana Brown has been doing cantorial work since 2002; she was ordained (together with Reb Rachel) last January by ALEPH: The Alliance for Jewish Renewal. Shoshana holds graduate degrees from the Jewish Theological Seminary and the Episcopal Divinity School. She has taught as an adjunct professor at SUNY Old Westbury, has authored many articles for “The Jerusalem Report” and the “Journal of Synagogue Music,” and was also a contributor to the Conservative Torah Commentary “Etz Hayyim.” Cantor Brown lives with her husband, Mark, and son, Lev, in Huntington, Long Island (her daughter, Mira, attends Bennington College). She works part-time at Congregation Simchat HaLev, in nearby Syosset.
And on Shabbat mornings 12/24 and 12/31, Rabbi Pam Wax will lead our davenen and Torah study.
We hope to see you at these upcoming services!
